File an expense without knowing account numbers
A phone bill, a CNSS contribution, rent: you know what it is, but not necessarily which accounting account it belongs to. On m2m.ma, you choose a word you understand and the corresponding account in the Moroccan chart (CGNC) is used for you.
The principle is the same wherever the expense comes from. A photo taken on the mobile app, an imported file or a manual entry all arrive in the same table, and each line receives its category.
Eight groups already prepared
The categories are ready from day one, grouped into broad families so you can quickly find the right one. You have nothing to create before you start work.
- Purchases: goods, raw materials, supplies, water and electricity
- Staff: salaries, CNSS and AMO, pension, mutual health insurance, temporary staff
- Premises: rent, maintenance and repairs, insurance
- Travel and transport: delivery, business trips, travel, restaurants
- Services
- Bank and finance
- Taxes and duties
- Fixed assets: the business's long-lasting assets
See where your money goes
Once your expenses are categorised, the category filter shows what you are really spending. How much does transport cost this quarter? Is the maintenance line going up? Expense reports then show these figures month by month.
An expense placed in the wrong spot can be corrected while it is still a draft. Your accountant can also check the categories during their reviews and tell you which cases should be handled differently.
The case of long-lasting assets
A vehicle, a machine or computer equipment is not treated like an everyday expense. These are tracked in the depreciation schedule, which spreads the cost of the asset over its useful life, on a straight-line basis, from the month of purchase.
The suggested useful lives are for guidance only and depreciation charges are not posted automatically: your accountant confirms the useful lives and makes the entries. More generally, the choice of category can have tax consequences, for example for certain travel or entertainment costs. If you are unsure about an unusual expense, ask your accountant before validating.
