You invoice, the accounting follows
Keeping books means turning each sale and each payment into an accounting entry. This work is repetitive and prone to mistakes when done by hand. On m2m.ma, you stay on your invoices: as soon as you validate one or record a payment, the corresponding entry is created in the right accounts of the Moroccan chart of accounts (CGNC).
You have no entries to make for a routine sale or payment. Someone who has never done any accounting can therefore handle their invoicing while the books build up for the accountant.
What is recorded, and where
For a sales invoice, the sales account, VAT and customer account are posted using double entry. Total debits always equal total credits. Expenses follow the same logic: the category you chose determines the expense account used. When a payment is recorded, what you are owed or what you owe goes down and your cash position is updated.
Each entry refers back to its original document. Your accountant, seeing a line in the journal, can find the invoice that created it without asking you for it.
- Entries created on validation and on payment
- Double entry with balanced debits and credits
- CGNC Moroccan chart of accounts, which you can extend as needed
- Link between each entry and its document
Correct without erasing
An entry cannot be deleted. When one needs correcting, a reversal entry cancels it, and the transaction stays visible in the journal. It is the same on the invoicing side, where a validated invoice is corrected with a credit note. This record makes it possible to understand, months later, why a balance changed.
Your accountant's place
Some transactions do not come from an invoice: a year-end adjustment or a depreciation charge, for example. Your accountant can add these manual entries to the same journal, provided you have invited them with access that lets them work directly.
Automation handles routine transactions. It does not replace a professional's eye on the choice of accounts for special cases, or on the sign-off of your statements. Ask them to check the first entries to make sure your settings match your situation.
